Bronze Preservation: Captain Isaac Davis Plaque

PR Monuments performed conservation treatment on a historic bronze plaque through a careful process of cleaning, repatination, and protective coating. Surface contaminants and corrosion products were gently removed using conservation-appropriate methods to stabilize the metal and reveal the original details of the casting. The plaque was then selectively repatinated to restore a consistent and historically appropriate appearance. Finally, a clear protective lacquer was applied and sealed with a microcrystalline wax coating to provide an additional barrier against moisture, pollutants, and environmental wear, helping to ensure the long-term preservation of the bronze surface.
