Bronze Preservation: Cole and Lee Veteran Plaques

PR Monuments performed conservation and preservation work on two historic bronze plaques mounted on granite pedestals in Westborough, Massachusetts. The plaques were carefully cleaned to remove accumulated dirt, corrosion products, and environmental deposits while preserving the original surface. Following cleaning, the bronze was repatinated to restore a uniform and historically appropriate appearance. The plaques were then coated with a protective lacquer system to seal the surface and help protect the metal from moisture, pollutants, and further oxidation. This treatment stabilized the plaques and ensured their long-term preservation while maintaining their historic character.
